I'm bringing back this thread because frankly, this is the sort of thread I look forward to reading about and why I stayed on the diversity mailing list. Even though the cadet has already graduated, I didn't know of his achievements. Its good to see cadets from different places and faces break the status quo, foreign or not.
Some points about the last 20-30 emails:
- Army football is important to USMA, no doubt. Its a recruiting tool...its a source of spirit for the Corps today as well as for former alumni. (There are other reasons why it is important, but no need to list them all here)
- I appreciate the work Lisa does in maintaining this listserv. Thank you Lisa!
- Whoever sent the first article re: Army football, that was appreciated. Good read.
- However, I'd appreciate it if people used "reply all" more sparingly, especially if the comment isn't really about diversity and cultural issues relevant to USMA. I can't really say I enjoy having to clean out 20-30 extra emails that I got today about Army football from a list that was intended for something else entirely.
This email is about email etiquette and consideration for others. Just because we're online doesn't mean different rules apply.
Wouldn't it be more polite if someone posted a hyperlink to a USMA forum thread about the issues surrounding Army football?
Just my $0.02... if you disagree or agree, please email me directly rather than "reply all." And I do apologize for doing what I just asked folks to try not to do (hit the reply all button that is).
Respectfully, Eugene Kim, M.D.

Wouldn't it be more polite if someone posted a hyperlink to a USMA forum thread about the issues surrounding Army football? - The official dedicated email address for the Army Football Committee is now open to receive your messages at: fbstudy@usma.edu There is also a Blog hosted by the Comm but I can't find the address. - The BlackKnights Diversity Leadership Council Bulletin Board (which is not used that often but should be) - wpblackknights.proboards56.com/ I (Lisa Steptoe) promise to post more threads there and will let every one know via email if something new pops up. I will also put a link to it on the website (www.theblackknights.org)
